Bevel vs Athlytic: recovery, tracking and the cost of each plan

Bevel offers a broad tracking dashboard with Free and Pro tiers. Athlytic emphasizes recovery and daily exertion guidance. Compare the workflow and the exact plan, not just a score or price.

Bevel’s help pages distinguish core tracking from Pro features such as its AI coaching and health-record tools. Athlytic’s site describes a morning recovery view followed by a daily exertion target. Neither description establishes that one algorithm is clinically more accurate or that a higher score is better.

US reference prices

The table records published US-dollar references on the checked date. Taxes, offers and regional App Store prices can differ. Bevel’s year-commitment monthly option is not available in every market and is not included in this annual-price comparison.

Plan scope differs. Zero-height entries are free tracking or a temporary beta, not missing data. These are US references, not converted worldwide prices.

Why your recovery scores may disagree

A shared source such as Apple Health does not require two apps to show the same total. Apps can choose different sampling windows, metrics, baseline histories and weighting rules. Keep the product name attached to each score so a change in display is not mistaken for a change in your body.

Start with the question you want answered: was the night recorded, how does the current reading compare with my own history, and what changed? Use the Apple Watch HRV guide to inspect the measurement before comparing totals. The sleep-score guide explains why sleep and recovery can differ.

Try a normal week before choosing

A practical evaluation checklist, not a product benchmark
During a trialWhat to notice
A normal morningCan you understand why the score changed?
A workout dayDoes the target help your planned training?
An incomplete recordingDoes the app clearly show missing data?
A busy dayCan you keep the tracking routine without extra friction?

Wear and charge the watch consistently while comparing. Do not change your recording routine for one app and then attribute every difference to the algorithm. Decide what you will actually use, rather than paying for a feature list that looks impressive but does not change your decisions.

Where WHOOP and Bodyvault fit

WHOOP adds its own sensor and a membership. If your reason for comparing Bevel and Athlytic is to use the Apple Watch you already own, read the WHOOP alternative comparison for the hardware trade-off.

Bodyvault is another option when you want recovery, meal logging and training together on iPhone and Apple Watch. It remains a beta, with a different readiness scale and its own explanations. This page is published by Bodyvault; the comparison is based on documented features rather than a blinded product test.

Before subscribing

Confirm device support, the current regional offer, renewal terms and the privacy policy. Check which data you are granting access to and whether any optional feature sends information to a server. Product documentation and store listings are the right place to verify current eligibility.

Questions

Is Bevel entirely paid?

No. Its current documentation separates Free tracking from Pro features. Check the exact features and current regional offer before purchasing.

Is a recovery percentage directly comparable between apps?

No. Inputs, baselines and methods can differ even when the scales look similar.

Is this an independent accuracy test?

No. Bodyvault publishes this page. It compares current publisher documentation and shows a trial checklist, not measured clinical accuracy.
