About Bodyvault

Bodyvault is a private coach for training, food, recovery and health on iPhone and Apple Watch, built by Lapaas in India.

Why we built it

Most fitness apps do one thing: count calories, log sets or score your sleep. Your body doesn’t split that way. A hard leg day changes what you should eat and how ready you’ll be tomorrow; a short night changes how hard you should train today. Bodyvault keeps training, food and recovery in one place on your iPhone, so each part knows about the others.

It is built for how people in India eat and live: roti and dal as well as oats and eggs, vegetarian days and fasting days, gyms with whatever equipment they have, and evenings that run late.

How the scores work

  • Your own baselines, not averages. Readiness compares last night’s HRV, resting heart rate and sleep with your own previous 60 nights, not a population chart.
  • Every score shows its working. Tap any score and the lines that added to it and took from it add up to the number.
  • No made-up numbers. Until there’s enough data for a score, the app says what it still needs instead of guessing.
  • Readiness moves through the day. It starts from this morning’s score and moves with training, stress, naps, food and how you say you feel, each with its own line.

Where the food data comes from

Bodyvault’s food database combines national food composition tables, including the Indian Food Composition Tables (IFCT 2017) from ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition and the Indian Nutrient Databank, with USDA FoodData Central and other national tables. The app lists every source and its licence under Eat → Food data sources & credits.

How we write the blog

  • Nutrition numbers come from published food composition tables, and we say which.
  • Claims about the body cite research or official guidance, linked at the end of each post.
  • Every post shows when it was last updated, and we update posts when the evidence or the app changes.
  • We write about general fitness and nutrition. It isn’t medical advice: if you have a condition, are pregnant or take medication, talk to your doctor.

Privacy

Your workouts, food and health data live in an encrypted database on your iPhone, and you don’t need an account. Ask Coach runs on Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. Read the privacy policy.
